Good Ole' Abe...

Reading a book right now called "Out of the Question...Into the Mystery" by Leonard Sweet. Some really good stuff on faith, relationships with one another, and your relationship with God. The chapter I just finished suggests that sometimes we should sacrifice the need to be right for the blessing to be in relationship. On that note, the author shares a story about President Lincoln. You ask my family who my favorite president has been all my life...they will say without a doubt, Abraham Lincoln. The following story is just another reason why:

When he was practicing law, Abraham Lincoln was hired to sue someone over a $2.50 debt. He didn't want to do it, but his client insisted that it was a matter of principle, even though the person being sued was a friend.

So Lincoln asked for a fee of ten dollars, to be paid in advance. He then gave half to the defendant, who promptly paid his debt.
