"Not to know is bad. Not to want to know is worse. Not to hope is
unthinkable. Not to care is unforgivable." - Nigerian saying.
As some of you may well know, I have been having some health
complications for the past month or so. About a month back I
began experiencing some pain in my left neck and left ear.
I initially went back a year when I had similar problems and it
was unofficially dianosed as probably being TMJ. So I didn't
think much of it...popped some pain killers any time it became
exceedingly annoying and just dealt with it.
About 2 weeks ago, the pain seemed to disappear but transfered
& enhanced it annoyance in my life by affecting my tongue. It seems
my tongue is...weak...slow...perhaps somewhat paralyzed. I have
trouble speaking (I sound like I've had too many bud lights) and I have
trouble eating (moving the food around is done mostly by your tongue).
I set up an appointment with a dentist (still thinking it was TMJ)
and can't get in till Aug 1. Set up an appointment with my ENT
and can't get in till July 7th. I then went to my chiropracter, he looked
at me, and immediately told me TMJ is not my problem. He didn't
want to wait for my regular ENT and he wanted some more finely
trained specialist to look into it as well. So I set up another
appointment with another ENT on July 7th up in St. Louis. Apparently
he has more letters behind his name than my regular ENT.
I then came up with an ignorant diagnosis of myself...thinking I had
developed Bell's Palsy. So I then went to my general physician
earlier this week to confirm this self-diagnosis. He does not concur.
So he had me get a MRI done the same day to check everything
out with the head & neck.
I got back the results and everything looks "normal". As we all know
there is nothing normal about me; but I was pleased with the conclusion.
So the next step is to take the MRI with me to my Super ENT on
July 7th up in St. Louis...who by the way, I am told, not to be surprised
if he wants to have his own MRI.
That's all I got folks. You know everything I know.
I thank you for all of your sweet concern and for all of your loving prayers.
For those of you in the Washington Area, know my nation-wide tour will
be in the area from June 29th-July 7th. You can schedule any breakfast,
lunch, or dinner dates with my peronal assitant (West Coast Divison),
Mike Bauer. :-)

I have been wondering how you were doing since group last Tuesday. Hopefully your Super ENT will find something at your next appointment.
Dear brother Neil ... so sorry to hear that you're suffering (written tearfully). The good news is that God knows exactly what's going on; and we can be confident that He will use it for good. Our family will be in prayer for your healing (our heart's desire), subject to His purpose of course.
The Nigerian saying is great, particularly when considered in light of the fact that God is the source of all knowledge and hope. Hang tight and trust in Him dear friend. Draw close to Him and hang on. Have no doubts or fears; only faith and trust. He is our only true hope!
We would be blessed to see you when you come West. Assuming that the Lord and your personal assistant are willing, we'll look forward to doing so.
